My name is Lisa Adams, and Baking It Personal is a new adventure for me. I have over 35 years of experience baking for my family, friends, and community, but this is the first time I have tried to fulfill my longtime dream of going into business for myself. I first discovered a passion for cake decorating as a teenager working in a Carvel Ice Cream store. Since then (even though I still enjoy decorating cakes,) I have found that I love everything about baking. I enjoy the whole process, including the creativity of tweaking an old recipe or the challenge of learning a new one. I relish those pre-holiday baking marathons, when I get to spend the whole day in the kitchen. Most of all, I love creating beautiful, delicious foods that bring smiles to people's faces.
I made 2 of these cupcake cakes for my husband's promotion ceremony. I find that square cupcakes make a sleek, finished look that doesn't "look" like a cupcake cake. The eagle was made of chocolate and placed on top. This particular cake fed 64 people.
